In 2012 The Metropolitan Police began an undercover operation in which a car was filled with hidden cameras, and then covertly sold into a suspected criminal organisation.
Footage of criminal activity recorded by the car was gathered and presented in court, resulting in a number of criminal convictions.
However, there was also a lot of stuff that the police didn’t use, footage of noncriminal activity... after all, the car was recording 24 hours a day...
“The Undercover Honda” is presented as having been made up of that discarded footage, the footage that didn’t suit the MET’s professional agenda of obtaining a prosecution; it’s everything which isn’t a criminal act.
It’s footage of the lives of Rob and Darren, two medium level employees in a small time criminal organization.
